Quilt Preparation
Hints and tips
Quilting prices are based on the density and complexity of the quilting required and the time involved in completing the quilt. Thread, batting, binding and shipping charges apply where necessary.

Meander from 1 cent per sq inch
Allover from 2 cents per sq inch
Custom from 3 cents per sq inch
Heirloom from 4 cents per sq inch - template work, tiny stippling, trapunto, crosshatching and art quilting are considered heirloom.

There is a $7.00 thread fee.

Multiple colour changes are $4.00 each after the first two.

In stock we have 90" wide Warm & White cotton batting.

I will prepare, attach by machine and hand sew down a french fold binding for 20 cents per linear inch, or just 10 cents if it is just machined on one side and you do the hand sewing.

1.  Be sure to carefully press both the front and the back.  All seams should be flat and pressed to one side or open.

2.  Ripples in the borders will not "quilt out" so be sure you measure and apply borders carefully.

3.  Your backing and batting should be at least 6" larger than the quilt top in both length and width after they have been squared.  Please make sure top, batting and backing are square.  Do not baste the top, batting and backing together, just fold them separately.

4.  If the quilt has a top edge please mark it.  Mark the backing too if necessary.

5.  Remember, quilting causes your quilt to "shrink" slightly and the more dense the quilting the more the shrinkage.

6.  If you are requesting binding be applied to the quilt, please make sure the fabric is included.  If you need to know how much please call.
